Beginning Rug Hooking Class-September 22-23 2021 'Woolfest' McKinney, TX

Welcome to the 2021 Historic McKinney Woolfest! This year, we are holding a class for beginners.

Shelley Lencioni will teach a Beginners Class on Wednesday and Thursday 9/22-23 2021. In this class she will teach the basics of rug hooking by offering a choice of two rug kits with pattern, printed instructions and cut wool strips. Students will need to supply a pair of small sharp scissors, and a frame and hook if they are readily available to them. If not, equipment will be available for use during the class.

This class is open to new hookers as well as those wishing to improve their technique in any area. Shelley will overview all aspects of rug hooking including hooking technique, materials selection, simple color planning, finishing a rug and many other related topics.

Shelley is a certified McGown rug hooking teacher and has been hooking rugs for over 25 years. She is the owner of her California shop and website ILoveRugHooking.com. There are two patterns available for the class, or a student may bring any rug kit with them.

The class fee is $48, the kits are $47 each. Your kit will be delivered at class in September unless otherwise requested. PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST BE A REGISTERED AND PAID WOOLFEST PARTICIPANT TO SIGN UP FOR THIS CLASS.
